Here we are already halfway through summer! In Texas, the hottest days are yet to come. If you need inspiration, like we do, for getting through another month or two of the dog days, here are some ideas:
1) Hook up a slip-n-slide and make everyone take a turn (even mom and dad!)
2) Cut everyone a monster slice of watermelon and eat it outside
3) Wash off the watermelon juice in a baby pool
4) Fix a salad with tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden or a local farm
5) Dance in the summer rain
6) Play in the puddles afterwards
7) Play golf
8) Play soccer
9) Make mojitos (use fresh mint!)
10) Go to an aquarium
11) Make peach cobbler with local peaches
12) Go to the beach and search for shells
13) Eat dinner outside
14) If you get hot during dinner, run through the hose
15) Stay in your pajamas at least until noon
16) Get highlights
17) Go swimming
18) Grill (highly recommend the Trader Joe’s garlic peppercorn pork tenderloin!)
19) Take a long nap
20) “Live in the sunshine, swim in the sea, drink in the wild air.” ~ Emerson.
