I can’t stop taking pictures of the baby in her homemade shark costume.
I know it’s way too early for Halloween, but after we sewed on the menacing back fin a few days ago, I had to try it on her.
She didn’t even realize she had it on.
She just sat around and played with toys.
While I hurried around with my camera trying to capture every ounce of mushy squishy cuteness.
What are your kids going to be for H-ween? I would love to see some snaps :)

On making the Back Fin:
- We used this Black Alligator Embossed felt from Michael’s for the fin. It’s stiffer than ordinary felt, so the fin stands up fairly straight without any interior support.
- Just cut out two pieces of felt in the shape of a fin. Sew them together inside out (with the embossed part on the inside), leaving the bottom of the fin completely open. Turn the fin right side out (so the embossed side is on the outside, and seams are on the inside).
- Cut a very thin hole in the back of the jacket, just long enough to fit the bottom edge of the fin. Slip the bottom edge of the fin through the hole, and then glue or sew it to the inside of the jacket.
