Hi again y’all! Yesterday I posted about the easiest way to cook salmon, and today I’ll share the easiest way to cook broccoli. (Just think, if you make the salmon and the broccoli together, in 20 minutes or less you can have what might be the easiest and healthiest meal on the planet!)
Here’s what you do: Place broccoli florets into a microwave-safe bowl. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, sealing it tightly around the edges of the bowl. Using a fork, poke a bunch of holes in the plastic; this will let some of the steam escape.
Microwave on high for 2 – 3 minutes (depending how soft you like your broccoli). The bowl will be hot, so let it cool for a few minutes; then remove the plastic (be careful of the hot steam!).
Then toss the broccoli with olive oil or butter and some S&P. Serving is a cinch, too: Just discard the plastic and you’re ready to go!
For extra flavor, I love to add a little grated Parmesan cheese.
Another option is to drizzle with Trader Joe’s Balsamic Glaze. It adds a little sweetness and lot of flavor!
Cooking broccoli this way makes it so easy to add a few florets to salads, pack in school lunches, serve as a side dish, or just enjoy as a snack. (Which is great because broccoli is packed with vitamins and nutrients!) So how do you cook and serve broccoli? Would love to hear some new ideas!
