If Valentine’s Day is supposed to be a celebration of love, it was.
For the third year in a row, we had John’s band and their families over for a Valentine’s Day dinner. The guys cook (and drink beer) and the ladies chat (and drink champagne). The kids make a huge mess.
But back to LOVE.
There was new-baby love.
And great-friends love.
And spouse love.
And food love. (That’s Tyler putting the finishing touches on his famous Beef Wellington.)
He even carved a heart into one!
And there was sharing.
And hugs.
And little acts of thoughtfulness.
And there was dinner, which was delicious.
And there was dessert, which was positively sinful. (I can’t remember the name but it involved dulce de leche and bananas in a buttery crust topped with whipped cream and candied, toasted almonds. Um, yeah.)
Many thanks to John, Chris, Tyler, Tom and Carlos for a very special and very memorable evening! It just gets better every year.
